FIFA has already sold 1.8 million tickets on the first two batches of sales. But they didn’t mention the number of remaining tickets. However, the tournament has a total capacity of 3 million tickets. An estimated 2 millions will be up for general sales while the other 1 million will be allocated for the FIFA stakeholders, including member federations and sponsors, plus hospitality programs.
However, more tickets will be available during the tournament. The stakeholders would return some tickets. Moreover, the fans from the eliminated teams will return some tickets during the tournament as well.
Doha, a 2.4m populated city, will receive a huge influx of visitors during the biggest football tournament on the planet. Qatar is gearing up as there will be 130,000 rooms available in hotels, apartments, cruise ships, and desert camps, where there will be 1,000 traditional tents.
The capacity has been doubled on Doha’s two international airports. More than 160 flights will fly in and out to bring fans from around the world in a single day during the tournament. Qatar expects November’s soccer World Cup to add as much as $17 billion to its economy.
