Scans today in the Leipzig facility revealed that he had, unfortunately, torn the syndesmosis ligament in his left ankle. Also will therefore be out for the entirety of 2022, said the Bundesliga team.

The 26-year-old German has scored 24 goals in 55 games for Germany at international tournaments.

Timo Werner, a German striker, has been ruled out of the upcoming World Cup in Qatar due to an ankle injury, his club RB Leipzig announced on Thursday.

The German international has appeared 55 times for his country and scored 24 times in 55 matches, for a record of five goals scored.

Captain and goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has not played for Germany since October 8 due to an injury to his shoulders and is questionable for the World Cup.

The flick will name his 26-man squad for the tournament on November 16.
