Christian Pulisic

The USA is back in the FIFA World Cup after missing out on the 2018 World Cup in Russia. They will visit Qatar for the FIFA World Cup 2022. Four months before the kick-off of the biggest football carnival on 21st November, the teams are all prepared to chase their dreams. For the preseason matches before the new English Premier League season, USMNT’s Christian Pulisic is in his home nation with Chelsea.

Christian Pulisic speaks about winning the World Cup in Qatar to Fox Sports. He knows though the USA is no way favorite to win the World Cup 2022, the team will be confident and hungry.

The 23-year-old Chelsea midfielder said to Fox Sports while training in Los Angeles with Chelsea, “We’re by no means favorites going into the tournament, but we’re a confident team, and we’re a hungry team.”

“We’re going to go in with the mentality and mindset of wanting to win the World Cup. That’s exactly where our heads are going to be at, and we’re going to go in and believe it. Because if you believe, I think you can do it”

The Hershey, Pennsylvania native Christian Pulisic plays for the London club Chelsea in the English Premier League. The Chelsea number 10 joined the club in 2019 for a $70m transfer fee, the highest amount ever paid for an American player.

Christian Pulisic became the youngest player to score multiple times in the German Bundesliga für Borussia Dortmund before moving to Chelsea. He won the UEFA Champions League in just his second season with Chelsea and became the first USMNT player to appear in the final.

The English outfit Chelsea will begin the new EPL season on 6th August. Before the start of the new season and obviously the World Cup, Christian Pulisic wants to be fully focused on his game. He said, “I’m just focused on having a very strong season at Chelsea. And then in the back of the head is obviously the World Cup.”

Christin Pulisic remembers the time he watched the USA playing in World Cups as a kid. He remembers the iconic goal Landon Donovan scored in the 2010 World Cup against Algeria to send the team into the Round of 16. That win helped the USA to top the group and forced England to settle for second place. Christian Pulisic remembers it was a big celebration. He said” It was a big celebration – I was running around my house. That’s the moment that sticks in your head.”

After not qualifying four years ago, Pulisic is counting his days for Qatar. The USMNT will play their hearts out when it matters. Arguably the most talented side ever in a World Cup, the USMNT will play with a lot of confidence as a team.

The USA will play against Englane, Wales, and Iran in Group B in the FIFA World Cup 2022. We will see the iconic rematch between The USA and England when Christian Pulisic will live his dream. Though they will be the underdogs, they will battle it out and hope to have the last laugh.

As Christian Pulisic said to Fox Sports, “When it comes down to it, we’re going to battle it out.” The USMNT will take on Wales on 21st November to begin their campaign. They will play against England on Black Friday. All the USMNT’s matches will be available on FOX.
