Lucas Hernandez was born on 14 February 1996, in Marseille, France. He is the son of a former French professional footballer Jean-François Hernandez.
Lucas’s younger brother Theo Hernandez is also a France international footballer, currently playing for AC Milan.

Lucas Hernandez is an Atletico Madrid youth academy product, who joined the youth system in 2007, at the age of 10.
